Tailor a light field modulator for unprecedented experience in AR: DONE ✅
It’s a mission well accomplished for CREAL. While we have continuously demonstrated that our light field display technology creates unprecedented 3D imagery bringing fully natural visual experience to AR, there was a major hurdle in making the display commercially viable for a mass market. The problem: the key component, a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM), didn’t exist with the needed performance, size, cost and power consumption.
Thus, three years ago, we embarked on our most daring mission so far: developing our own SLM that would enable our light-field display technology for a mass market. And here we are today, announcing that we have successfully created our own Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal on Silicon (FLCOS) modulator, tailored to bring our light field display into mainstream AR.
