CREAL gets first light from Photonic Integrated Chip
✨💡 A major milestone for CREAL!
We’ve just got the first light from our Photonic Integrated Chip (PIC) 🔴 🟢 🔵 —a big step in making our light field display small!
In collaboration with LioniX, PHIX and other partners, and as part of the European MATEL project, we are developing a cutting-edge PIC that integrates the whole light field illumination system onto a single flat chip. This will allow us to halve the size of our light field optical engine, bringing us closer to thin and lightweight AR glasses.
Beyond miniaturization, the PIC, as a single solid-state component, brings higher precision, and low-cost large-scale manufacturability — a significant upgrade compared to our current assembly process from discrete components.
We’re excited to push forward and bring this innovation over the finish line, and can’t wait to share what’s next! 🚀
